DESCRIPTION
The SerialComm REP-485/422-9E is a high-performance industrial-grade RS485 to RS422 converter, RS422 to RS485 converter, RS485 repeater or RS422 repeater. This unit is bi-directional and has a RS485/RS422 transmission distance of up to 4000ft (1.2km). It is externally powered, utilizing either 9V DC, 12V DC or the included 100V to 240V AC adapter. We also offer optional heavy-duty Meanwell power supplies. The RS422 to RS485 converter is plug-n-play, featuring a built-in data direction auto-turnaround hardware automatically managing the RS485/RS422 data transmission eliminating the need for software drivers. This adapter offers 2.5KV isolation, which is an effective solution for protecting RS-RS485 and RS422 devices from voltage surges, lightning strikes, ground loops and signal noise problems. The REP-485/422-9E has a DB9 female connector RS485/RS422 port, and a DB9 male connector on the other RS485/RS422 port and includes two wire screw-down terminal blocks for simple connection. The unit is enclosed in a aluminum housing and is low-cost reliable solution. This converter operates from 0 to 115,200 baud.

Using one REP-485/422-9E unit:
Check that all connections comply with the connection diagrams. Perform a continuity test on one unit: Connect the REP-485/422-9E in between RS485/RS422 path. If there is continuity in the data stream then it is working. If the REP-485/422-9E is not being powered properly it will not work at all.
