Frequently Asked Questions

Question 31:  What is the maximum number of supported nodes in a RS-485/RS-422 circuit if the RPT-485_422-2 is used?

Answer: The maximum number of supported nodes in a RS-485/RS-422 circuit depends on the RS-485/RS-422 master, for example, if the RS-485 master supports only 32 nodes, the maximum number of supported nodes in the RS-485 network is 32.  The use of RPT-485_422-2 only extends the RS-485/RS-422 distance, it will not affect the total number of nodes that can be used in the circuit.
